WEAVER AWARDED TWO NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS EAST BAY WINS IN ONE NIGHT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TAMPA, FL – Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN was awarded the victory in the 50-lap
NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series race on Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park after
the car of apparent winner Devin Dixon of Apollo Beach, FL was disqualified during the post-race
technical inspection.

Weaver, driving the Cardinal Paint and Body Custom By Weaver was also awarded the win
in the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Thursday night East Bay Raceway Park event with the
disqualification of Dixon.  The engine in Dixon’s Night Hawk Towing Rocket was found to have a
balanced crankshaft and aftermarket connecting rod bolts, both of which are disallowed in the
series.

The engines of Weaver and Friday night’s winner Shan Smith of Dade City, FL were also
taken apart and inspected by NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Technical Officials, and both engines
were ruled to by legal.  Weaver finished second to Smith’s Gardner Racing TNT in Friday night’s
50-lap NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS event at East Bay Raceway Park.

Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, FL finished second on Saturday night in the Miller Lite Rocket.
Nosbisch was also awarded with fast time honors by out-qualifying the 48 entrants with a lap
around the 1/3-mile clay oval in 15.709 seconds.

Ronny Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, MS took the third spot in the Waddle Trucking Mastersbilt,
and Smith was fourth.  Jeff Matthews of Dover, FL grabbed the Race Car Engineering 5th-Place
Award in the Night Hawk Towing Warrior.

Defending NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Eric Cooley of Fulton,
MS picked up the KRC 6th-Place Award in the 78 Towing and Recovery Victory Circle.  Doug
Horton of Bruceton Mills, WV in the Adams Used Auto Parts Warrior was the Joe Gibbs Driven 7th-
Place Award winner, and Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA took the Race Car Engineering 8th-
Place Award.

Ron Wadforth of Trenton, Ontario Canada took the 25th Long Haul Provisional starting spot, and
drove the Excel Tower Service Rocket to the Maximum Signs 9th-Place Award and the GM
Performance Hard Charger of the Race Award.  Shane Hitt of Buchannon, WV finished tenth to
earn the KRC 10th-Place Award in the Hitt Enterprises Rocket.

Justin McRee of Cuba, AL picked up the Mike’s Custom Tanks 11th-Place Award in the Century
Carriers, Inc. Trak-Star, and his teammate Charlie Henderson of Cottondale, AL finished 13th and
was the Rookie of the Race Award winner.

Turner stays on top of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National point standings by
two point over Cooley, and 32 points over McRee in the third spot.

Before his disqualification, Dixon started the race from the pole position, and led all 50 laps.
Nosbisch ran in the second spot for the first four laps of the race, but Weaver would get by him
on a lap five double-file restart and make what would be the winning pass.

The first of six caution flags would come out on lap three when Larry Harrod of Plains, GA spun
the Harrod Logging Scorpion in turn one.  Harrod was able to continue, but he was collected in a
spin by David Pollen Jr. of Tampa, FL in the B&D Trucking Rocket on lap five in turn four.  Harrod’
s car flipped once and landed on its wheels.

Harrod climbed from the car under his own power, but he was taken to Tampa General Hospital
for tests and observation.  This earned Harrod the Dominator Race Products Hard Luck Award.

Smith made an early race charge after starting 19th and was running ninth by lap ten.  Smith
jumped from ninth to seventh on a lap 15 restart, and passed Cooley for the sixth position on lap
18.  Smith would pass Matthews for what would be the fourth position on lap 42.

Turner was another Hard Charger candidate, as he took a provisional, started 23rd, and was up
to the tenth spot by lap 20.  Wadforth would be the GM Performance Hard Charger of the Race,
as he started 25th, and was running in what would be the ninth spot by lap 40.

In preliminary action, the four ten-lap heat races were won by Hollingsworth, Matthews, Cooley,
and Horton.  The two 12-lap B-Main races were won by Kevin Wilson of Stoneville, NC in the KMS
Roofing Wilson, and Pollen.

The next two events for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour will be on
April 9 with a 40-lap $2,000-to-win event at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, and on April
10 with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win event at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS.
