By ASA Late Model Series Birmingham, Alabama (07/14/2007): ARP Bodies/Aluminum Racing Products Qualifying is now complete for the Crimson 125 Presented by FLF Racecars at the historic Birmingham (AL) International Raceway in Birmingham, Alabama and the Feature line-up is set for the extended distance 125-lap Feature.
After a long and drawn out battle with Mother Nature, weather is no longer an issue and everything is back on schedule for the fourth race of the 2007 season at the fast and storied 0.625 Mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval of the Birmingham (AL) International Raceway.
The 26 ASALMS South teams are now qualified in and are getting ready for the Crimson 125 Presented by FLF Racecars, which will get the green flag tonight at approximately 9:00pm (CST) on the biggest track on the 2007 schedule for the ASALMS Southern Division.
As for ARP Bodies/Aluminum Racing Products Qualifying, since there are 26 cars on hand, all cars will start tonight’s Feature and the GM Performance Parts Shootout has been cancelled for this show.
In ARP Bodies Qualifying, Current ASALMS Southern Division Overall and Rookie of the Year Points Leader, Sean Bass won his second consecutive Fast Qualifier Award of the season as the 20-year-old Orlando, Florida freshman steered his Rinaldi’s Heating and Air Conditioning/Moyer Motorsports/Dodge Charger around the Yellowhammer State oval at a 20.566, which measures out to a fast 109.404 MPH. After ARP Bodies/Aluminum Racing Products Qualifying, Bass then drew a Nine for an inversion which will place Rookies Jeff Choquette and Brandon Johnson, the last ASALMS South Feature Winner, on the front row for tonight’s Crimson 125 Presented by FLF Racecars.
The B.I.R. support divisions are running their respective features as the Sportsmen (15 laps), Mini Modifieds (20 laps), Street Stocks (20 laps), Renegades (12 laps), and Buzz Cars (12 laps) Features will all run in succession. Then after Driver Introductions, the Crimson 125 Presented by FLF Racecars will get the green flag at approximately 9:00pm.

As for the rest of ARP Bodies Qualifying, Travis Wilson timed in second fastest with a 20.588 while 14-year-old Tyler Townsend was third quick at a 20.728. 17-year- old John Wes Townley was fourth with a 20.753 and Beau Slocumb, a Feature Winner in 2007 in Cordele, Georgia, completed the Top Five with a 20.781.
Rookies dominated the second five as Michael Seeright (20.858), 19-year-old Travis Cope (20.883), Brandon Johnson (20.888), Jeff Choquette (20.888), and 16- year-old Brian Blum (20.931) rounded out the Top 10.
This is the final ASALMS Southern Division event before the Crate American Race 200 at the Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway. The Top Two (2) in the ASALMS Southern Division Owners Points Standings after the Crimson 125 Presented by FLF Racecars are guaranteed a spot in the Crate American Race 200.
B.I.R. is the only track on the 2007 ASALMS Southern Division schedule that will host more than one show during the season. On Saturday October 27, 2007, the ASALMS Southern Division Cars and Stars will decide their 2007 Championship and Rookie of the Year titles respectively in the ASALMS Southern Division Season Championships 125.
