Two Major Staff Changes at Ocala Speedway
December 12, 2007, Ocala Speedway- Michael Peters, owner and promoter
at Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida, took the opportunity at the annual
awards banquet to announce two major personnel changes at the speedway
for 2008.
Former TBARA flagman, the one and only "Wild Child, " will be the flagman at
Ocala Speedway when the track reopens for 2008. "Wild Child" is one of the
best known and most respected flagmen in Florida, and the reaction to the
announcement has been very positive. Larry Bowden, our flagman for the last
few seasons, will remain on staff at Ocala Speedway in other roles for 2008.
Those roles will be announced later.
Scott McCallister has also come on board as the full time announcer for Ocala
Speedway, beginning in 2008. He replaces BJ Cavin, who replaced Wolf
Bowers as track announcer in April of 2007. BJ is also remaining on staff,
assuming the role of media relations director and handling press releases,
race results, and internet responsibilities.
