FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Pepsi Six Pack Hobby Stock Challenge by BJ Cavin
Ocala Speedway and Pepsi have joined forces to add some excitement to the 2008 racing season with the Pepsi Six Pack Challenge Races. Ocala Speedway owner Michael Peters will designate one hobby stock division race per month, over a six month period, as part of the Pepsi Six Pack. The months in which these designated hobby stock races will be run include, March, April, May, June, October, and November. The exact dates of these races will be released along with the Ocala Speedway 2008 schedule later on. Thanks to Pepsi coming on board as the sponsor of these races, Ocala Speedway is able to offer $1000 to the winner of each Pepsi Six Pack Event. In addition, the overall points winner for the Pepsi Six Pack Races will be awarded a bonus after the last race in the series in November. More details on the Pepsi Six Pack points award will be forthcoming. The races will be open to all hobby stock cars that are legal to race under the Ocala Speedway rules, but there will be a penalty assessed to cars that have not competed in at least one prior hobby stock feature race previously in that month. The penalty is designed to encourage hobby stock competitors to compete in as many races as possible at Ocala Speedway and not restrict their racing to the events with a larger payout, and thus increasing the level of competition throughout the season. Racers in the other divisions at Ocala Speedway have hope that more sponsors like Pepsi may step forward and allow the track to offer more such races in the other divisions. Any company or individual interested in sponsorship can contact Ocala Speedway at 352-622-9400 for more information.
