  The 2008 ASA Late Model Series Drivers / Owners Meeting reveals the future

Lexington, Michigan (01/21/2008): The ASA Late Model Series Presented by
GM Performance Parts Awards Banquet and Weekend of Champions was a
rousing success from the 1st annual How To Clinics and Seminars all the way
to the 2007 ASALMS Awards Banquet Ceremony. All were held at the Clarion
Hotel and Conference Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Over the weekend of January 18-19, 2008 and in between those two
previously mentioned important events was the 2008 ASALMS Drivers/Owners
Meeting. A huge turnout of new and returning ASALMS teams were on hand to
absorb the vast amounts of information offered throughout the morning with
regards to the 2008 racing season and beyond for the Lexington, Michigan
based series.

ASALMS Co-Founder/President, Ron Varney hosted the annual
Drivers/Owners Meeting and revealed to the patrons on hand a wide variety of
information including: Purses for the upcoming 2008 racing season as well as
Points Funds and the Winners Circle program.

The 2008 ASALMS Rulebook was gone over by ASALMS Head Tech Director
Russ Chapman and that rulebook is available to all ASALMS participants by

Also of note, the USPRO Cup Series section to the rulebook will be available
as soon as possible as Chapman and Varney are in the process of finalizing it
in preparation for its’ release very soon.

As for the 2008 Schedules within all Four (4) divisions of the ASALMS, the
entire 2008 schedule is very close to completion. The ASALMS Challenge
Division will reveal Two (2) To Be Announced events in the coming days as
negotiations continue and contracts are in the process of being finalized. In
addition, one more event will possibly be added as well to complete the
finalized ASALMS Challenge Division schedule.

The 2008 ASALMS Northern Division schedule has been deemed complete
while the ASALMS Southern Division is very close to being finalized. The
USPRO Cup Series 2008 Schedule is also close to being done as well. As is
the case with the Challenge Division, final negotiations are in progress for all
of the above with the exception of the ASALMS Northern Division.

Stay tuned to all three ASALMS websites for further updates in the coming
weeks as the ASALMS team continues to work diligently to finalize all Four (4)
2008 schedules for both new and returning teams so they can plan their travel
arrangements.

Later in the meeting, race day procedures were gone over as well with regards
to Qualifying, and Provisionals for all three ASALMS divisions New for 2008 will
be a procedural change to the GM Performance Parts Shootout.

In years past, either no one transferred out of the Shootout or it was decided
on race day that a certain number of drivers would transfer. For 2008, the Top
Two (2) will now transfer out of the GM Performance Parts Shootout.

In what was revealed the day before during the 1st annual ASALMS How To
Clinics and Seminars, Varney revealed the brand new “Super Crate” which will
officially debut in the ASALMS Challenge Division in 2009.

More details about this revolutionary engine, titled by GM Performance Parts,
the CT525 6.2L, and is modeled after the LS Corvette Engine and modernized
for the ASALMS, will be implemented in the ASALMS Challenge Division only
beginning with the 2009 season.

The hugely popular GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine, the foundation
of the ASALMS, will remain in the ASALMS Northern and Southern Divisions as
well as the return of the USPRO Cup Series for the foreseeable future. Those
details and a complete press release about the new “Super Crate” will be
available in the coming days.

A special thanks to all those ASALMS Officials who provided insight and spoke
to the jammed packed crowd on hand. They include; Ron Varney, Russ
Chapman, Dick Melius, Brad Barlow, Matt Prieur, and Bob Varney.

In addition, all the special guests who were on hand included; Karen Krupka-
Choice Hotels, Todd Smekens-Race Against Drugs, and Bill Martens-GM
Performance Parts.

The first race of the 2008 season is this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
January 24-26, 2008 as the ASALMS will conduct the “Non-Points” Crate Late
Model Challenge 100, which is part of SpeedFest 2008 at the fast 0.750 Mile
Progressively Banked Paved Oval of the USA (FL) International Speedway in
Lakeland, Florida.

The Crate Late Model Challenge 100 / SpeedFest 2008 Entry Form is Still
Available and will be $100.00 to enter and is due at the USA International
Speedway Offices in Lakeland, Florida as soon as possible. The cost is
$150.00 to enter.

The Master Schedule and Time Line for the SpeedFest 2008 Race Weekend

The CRA Super Series and the FASCAR Florida Sunbelt Series serve as head-
liners for SpeedFest 2008 at the fast 0.750 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval. The
ASALMS portion of the weekend will be a “Non-Points” special event for ALL
Template Bodied / Crate Engine machines from all over North America.

SpeedFest officials will oversee the entire event with technical support from
ASA Late Model Series Technical Officials and Staff. The entire weekend will
be under the direction of CRA Super Series Promoters, Glenn Luckett and R.
J. Scott as well as FASCAR’s Don Nerone. All three will be co-promoting the
entire weekend with the speedway.

ASALMS Rules Will Apply for the Crate Late Model portion of the weekend as
the Goodyear 2602 Tires Must Be Purchased and Impounded at the Track.
ASALMS Licenses are NOT Required for this event.

All Cars #’s must carry an “N” or “S” Designation. South Cars will be from
Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. This is Subject to Change. No
